Apple Pharmacy Group Wins Top Award

The remarkable success of a major rebranding exercise by the fast-expanding Apple Pharmacy Group has been recognised at the prestigious Scottish Pharmacy Awards.

Glasgow-headquartered Apple won the Scottish Business Development of the Year award at a dinner in Glasgow, which was attended by community, primary care and hospital pharmacists, as well as pharmaceutical manufacturers and suppliers. It is the latest accolade for the chain, which started operating in Saltcoats, Ayrshire, only two years ago and now has pharmacies in Glasgow, Dundee and Edinburgh. It has introduced a series of innovative services designed to improve delivery to the communities it serves.

The rebranding initiative came from Apple MD Sanjay Majhu, who saw that a simple name and logo would help patients, especially the elderly, easily identify with the core values of the group. The logo is now on all stationery and signage, and staff wear it on their work clothes. The outlets have all been comprehensively re-fitted and re-designed with Apple's trademark bold and contemporary flair. They are professional and customer-friendly, with an open dispensary and consultation rooms which allow them to participate fully in the healthcare requirements of the area.

Mr Majhu said: We are very proud that the hard work and thought which has gone into making our pharmacies as good as they can be has been recognised by our peers in the profession. Apple will strive to continually improve standards for the communites in which we operate.
